Girls night? What is that? It’s been a while since I’ve hung out with the girls until the wee hours. Those days are a distant memory. I’m pretty sure I can’t even  stay up until the wee hours anymore! My body goes into shut down mode around 9p! Turns out, I’m cool with that. I am a huge fan of sleep. It under rated. Babies don’t understand how great it is to be able to take a nap in the middle of the day. Actually, they get to sleep whenever they want. Nobody wants to deal with a cranky baby, so let them sleep! I say all that to say – I’m sot sure I’m GNO material anymore. I’m not sure I can stay up talking about any and everything until my eyelids can no longer hold out. I can handle a Mom’s Night Out though. It’s a little different, but still good! We’re all (semi)mindful of the clock. It’s probably because we know what or who we’re facing the next morning. That being said, kicking it until 3am – is not an option. Mom’s night out has the same kick back, laid back, let it all hang out kind of fun. It’s just got an added (ready or not, that child will be up at 6am) twist. Looking forward to another MNO in the near future.

  1. I hear you!!! I would much rather sleep, then sleep some more. Don’t you always sleep better when your kids aren’t home too? I do. But when are the kids not home? Okay I’m rambling.

I just had a GNO for the first time in a lonnnnnggg time. And it was fantastic. Too much to drink for sure. But it was necessary. It was nice to dress up, eat good food {not frozen pizza}, put on some heels and not have to worry about running after my kids or bringing my Mom purse. I think every few months it’s good to reconnect with the woman inside and not just the Mom.

  2. I’ve tried to do the GNO, but I also realized that I just can’t hang anymore. Going out to a party only occurs when there is a special occasion. I haven’t had the desire to party in a very long time. Honestly, I don’t miss the desire.

Now that I’m a parent with school and work, I enjoy just being at home by myself kid-free.
