My heart is pounding! I don’t know why I get so nervous to share stuff. I’ll get over it… eventually.

I have mentioned a few times on this blog that I’m working on a book. What I haven’t mentioned is that I am now a published author.

shyly-speaking-using-my-words-find-voice-camesha-gosha-paperback-cover-artIt’s been in the works for years. I have started and stopped so many times it’s not even funny. I am so determined though to follow through with my dreams. It’s like being a mother became the catalyst for me to just go for it… no matter what “it” is. That’s not to say that this didn’t kick my butt!

Project: Become A Published Author has been a real grind y’all. There were endless revisions, numerous drafts and the doubts. The doubts are real. I doubted myself, I doubted my voice. Doubt is a beast and I have been working to make sure doubt doesn’t dim my determination {click to tweet} While the whole process was grueling and stressful that was only the beginning. Silly me, I didn’t consider marketing the book. I knew I’d have to get the word out, I just didn’t know how much work it would take. Yes, publishing was only the beginning. O-M-G!!! Oh well, I can’t just do it halfway, right? So, the grind continues!

I hadn’t really considered all of the things I need as an author. There’s the media kit, press release, sales sheet and so on and so on.  Apparently, that’s just the tip of the iceberg. Contacting the press and sending my work out to be reviewed is a whole other beast. Y’all, I”m tired. I just need to let out one big ole WOOSAH and go on REAL vacay. The book is available online at Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Book-a-Million, Tower Books and a few other places. To say I’m excited, is an understatement! It’s been a lot of work but it’s so worth it to be able to say I did it – I’m doing it! I don’t know what you may be holding off on doing but, just take some baby steps toward what you want. I mean, it took me years to finally get it done – but it’s DONE! What I really hope, is that by following through with this goal I’ll set an example for my babies. I really don’t want them to think that anything is impossible. Even when it takes longer than you expected, even when you’ve had setbacks, anything is possible.

I had already nervously shared the news on my personal Facebook page, but for some reason I was even more nervous about sharing here.  Glad to have it out there now. This is part of what I’ve been working on in my “spare” time. More to come… *Passing out now**
