Just about every day I post a question of the day to FB pages and twitter. It’s always interesting to see the answers I get back. I think for my personal FB page, it’s helped me to get to know people a wee bit better and they’ve gotten to know more about me too. It’s cool what you get to know about people just by asking the right question.

Here’s a question I saw floating around the web recently:

If you could give one piece of advice to a young person, what would you say?

I think about stuff like this all the time. I knew I was getting up there in years when I started saying, “Kids these days…” That being the case, kids these days are a new breed. Many younger peeps don’t seem to think further than their next breath. How else do you explain all of the TMI floating around on social media and all other parts of the internet? Oh, that’s just in my family? *hides head in shame*

Every thing is about what’s good for the here and now. The YOLO (You Only Live Once) mentality is in full force. I’m all for that in many cases.  But on the off chance that today isn’t my last, I don’t want to go so hard on the whole YOLO tip that I mess up some stuff for my future.

Having said that, I would offer up this piece of advice to those younger than me.

Know your worth!

When you know your worth there are some things you just don’t do. There are some things and people you don’t deal with. Just those three words alone apply to every single area of life. Know what you’re worth in relationships, jobs, etc.

What one piece of advice would you give?

  1. Make God first in your life. Also, invest in yourself and get a degree while you are young and then get married and have children. Be respectful to others and they will be respectful to you!

  2. To enjoy being young don’t be so quick to grow up. You will be grown and get to do everything you want wait no that’s not true you still won’t get to do everything you want. I would also remind the youth that life is not fair…get use to it.

  3. Great advice. I would say all the same good stuff. The importance of knowing your worth – it’s a gift to have that knowledge as a young person.
It’s been a joy to find your blog today. I read your lovely comment on mine last week but it’s taken me until now to reciprocate. Sorry for the delay but thank you for dropping by and for making me aware of yours.

  4. Stay true to yourself. I truly believe that there is no better advice in this world. So many of us sell ourselves short trying to be what others want us to be and end up miserable. Be who you are and stay true to that period!

  5. Their such as you go through my head! Material realize so much roughly this particular, like you published the actual e-book in it or something that is. I do believe you’re able to do with a bit of Percent to make your message house somewhat, but rather than of which, that is wonderful weblog. A superb go through. Let me definitely be back again.
