There are a few things you need to successfully blog:

  • Something to say
  • Time to write it
  • Space to post it

Lately, I’m striking out on numbers one and two!! You know what I’m blaming? This full time job called motherhood!!! LOL! I had the mommy of one thing down. I knew when my son went down for the night, that was my time to dive into my own little blog world. I’d read a bunch of blogs, I’d write my own posts, I’d even schedule my posts for the WHOLE WEEK! A. WHOLE. WEEK. That is a thing of the past. Now that my little girl is here. Things around here have changed ina big way.

When the kids go down for the night, I wanna go too. Heck, I need to go to bed then. My daughter is not a fan of sleeping through the night yet. So, I never know if she’s going to wake up 5 minutes or 5 hours after I lay her down. My best bet for getting any sleep is to lay it down when she does. The sucky thing is, that is hardly ever possible. You know, since I have this other job of wife. There’s still stuff to do around this house once the kids are asleep and it’s always nice to say more than “hey” to my husband. Once we catch up and clean up and then I lay down a get a little sleep… someone else decides it’s time to get up.

My guess is I can’t function much longer on 4 hours of sleep a night. Just a guess. I also know that blogging on so little sleep is next to impossible.

So there you have it. My blog has been sabotaged by an 18 pound, 6.5 month old baby. She’s a powerful little girl. I mean, she’s been on this earth less than a year and has single handedly taken down a blog! How many babies do you know that can do that??

She’ll learn that her mama doesn’t go out without a fight. Soon enough, I’ll be a blogging fool again. Once she’s sleeping through the night and I come out of my self-imposed hibernation… it’s on!

Until then, you may very well be subjected to my sporadic posts. For that, I have one response. Blame the baby! 🙂

  2. Girl! Guess what! It gets better. My kids (the oldest two) are 2.5 years apart. My oldest is now 7 and youngest 5. and That first year with a 2 year old and newborn was like WHOOOOOA!! But give it a year or TWO when they are running & hanging together and feeding themselves and all you have to say is GO TO BED!! You are going to love it. The only thing is I didn’t have a blog when they were that age. Now I am about to start over! SMH!! IT will get better girly! Just hold on.
