It’s been a few weeks since I’ve shared in this space. It wasn’t intentional. There are so many blog posts in draft mode that I wasn’t short on content. What I was short on was energy. Like you, I’ve been plowing away over the last year or so with being mom, wife, teacher and employee. It’s a lot. Under normal circumstances, it’s a lot but in a whole pandemic it is monumental. I knew I needed a break – from something. I didn’t even realize how much of a break I needed. The thing that took the hit was this space. I’ve been quiet on social media too.

I’m getting back to things now. Slowly, making my way back into all things social media. No coincidence, that my kids have now finished the school year. I feel less pressure and like I can breathe a bit with our more laid back schedule. We’re picking and choosing the things we want to do for their break. After this, uh, interesting school year, we need this break in the action.

Here’s what I know about me. When it comes to this writing and social media life, I need to be living life. So this whole pandemic year has been a challenge when it comes to feeling creative. It’s been hard to create content when all of life has been experienced in my home. I’m feeling the juices flowing again and I’m looking forward to finding my groove – again.

I’ve been looking forward to things opening up. I want some sort of normal back. I think we’re getting there. That feels good. As for my family, we’ve been slowly making our way back out into this new normal world. A family hike here, a ladies’ tea there… it’s been good.

I’m looking forward to a couple of upcoming trips, too. If there’s anything we all agree on, it’s that we could use a break from our house. It’s served us well this year, however, we need some time apart. Ha! What are you looking forward to most in this whole new world? *cue Aladdin soundtrack*
