Growing up I had eczema – bad! My arms legs and face were dry with splotchy rashes or dry spots for much of my childhood. It made me the but of jokes at times and a little insecure. After a while, I grew out of all those things that used to trigger my eczema. Thankfully! Then I started to really focus on what it looked like to have healthy skin. Sine then, I’ve been intentionally taking care of my skin.

natural skincare products! five MUST HAVE products for skin that glows.

I think it started when I attended modeling school at 12. That in itself is a story for another day. In any case, while in modeling school they taught us all about makeup – lessons I didn’t carry forward at all. I never wear makeup.  It’s not their fault, I’m just not a makeup girl. I’m kind of a daily lip balm girl. If I’m feeling fancy, I’ll wear gloss or… lipstick! They also talked a lot about skincare since it’s a huge part of wearing makeup and longevity as a model. I took to the skincare part and kept that in my daily routine.

Before modeling school, I’d never heard of toner and didn’t have a designated moisturizer for my face. I don’t think I was alone in this at 12 years old. Once I was introduced to skincare and its importance, I was all in. Obviously, I have mixed things up over and over again through the years. At this point I have a full on five step routine that I’ve been sticking with for a while. What I look for in products vary. The big things for me are that they use natural ingredients. I like to be clear about the things I put in and on my body. I’ve found some really good green products that do the trick.

For cleansing my face, I currently use Tula Probiotic Skincare. I got it in a Fab Fit Fun box sometime ago. When I ran out of my usual cleanser, I started using it. First, this tube has lasted FOREVER. I like that my skin doesn’t feel dry and stripped after I use it. Then I use witch hazel for toner. It’s natural and inexpensive – WIN. It does a good job of getting the excess dirt out of my face! Then I use a vitamin c serum by Insta Natural. It’s full of lots of good natural stuff and has a nice, light citrus smell. After applying it my moisturizer just glides on.  My face feels incredibly smooth!

The moisturizer I use is Daily Greens from The Healing Place Apothecary. I love how light it is. It’s like rubbing a whipped up cream potion on my face. A little goes a long way with this one too. I’ve had this jar forever and I’m just running out. My last step is a few spritzes of rose water. I got this bottle from my Fab Fit Fun box too, it’s from Grace and Stella. It seals in all the moisture and my skin looks dewy and feels smooth.

One area I had failed until recently was my nighttime skincare routine. I just didn’t have one. I have been trying a few different things and I’m tweaking it a bit. I’ll fill you in on it once I’m set! What are your go to skin care products?
