Yesterday, I got up determined to get out of the house. As much as my kids love being at home, it seems like they need more space to roam for them to get ALL of their sillies out. The issue is, if they don’t get enough running and jumping out of their little systems, nap time is a joke! Mama is not laughing.  Tired kids = cranky, meltdown every five minute kids.

So, I decided to take them to a park off the beach. As we got closer to the park, I saw police cars, people draped in the American flag and Captain America costume. I was seriously like WTF? As we got to the parking lot for the park, I spoke to an officer who told me the lot was full. Wondering what was up, I asked the officer if the park was closed. Apparently, it was really packed because there was a huge party in honor of the World Cup! They had a big screen and stage up. Port o potties and food trucks were everywhere. There was music blasting. My babies and I had entered a full on par-tay! I haven’t been following the World Cup super close but it was fun to see so many fans, so intense about the game!

july dump 039After finding parking, we strolled over to the park and had some good play time with tunes from J.Lo, Pitbull and Bruno Mars playing in the background. Now I think there should always be music booming at the park. It made it even more fun for me and the kids. My babies love to dance! We played for a while and then before we knew it, it was lunch time.july dump 052

Rewind to the drive to the park. My kids were in the back seat practically begging to go to the beach. So, it was surprise to them when I said we should have lunch on the beach. They were super excited to get a chance to play in the sand and possibly get in the water. Somehow they missed me packing lunches and a blanket. Somehow…

We sat on the sand, chased birds, inspected seaweed, seashells and rocks. We even splashed in the water a bit.

Once we got home, I got my babies in the bed. They slept for HOURS!!!!!!!!!!!!! Mission accomplished! There’s nothing better than well rested babies.

Since the World Cup invaded the playground, its got my attention. I’m wondering, have you been following the World Cup?

  1. Yes! The park and the beach sounds like heaven!

Heck no, I don’t keep up with ANYTHING sport related. lol.

And I agree, there is nothing like a well rested kid. My daughter gets so dramatic when she hasn’t had her sleep.

  2. I have been following the World Cup a bit -it’s hard to avoid! And that was quite the party! Oh, the beach exhausts my boy. Any type of swimming does. It’s wonderful!

  3. I watched the USA v Belgium World Cup game yesterday outside on a 50ft-wide jumbo-tron. Needless to say we went home saddened by the game and covered in the worst sunburn imaginable.

  4. No, I know nothing about the World Cup. I know it’s a soccer game and that’s pretty much it! lol

  5. I love it when we go to the park and something fun is going on. It’s always a great surprise.

  6. My husband watched some of it, but I’d rather be at the beach!! Going there next week as a matter of fact!!
