Every week, I try to drop a little dose of motivation. To tell the truth, I write to motivate others AND myself! All mamas need a little “you don’t suck” every now and then, right? The goal in this here space is to move us all to do a little more of what makes us happy. It’s a beautiful thing! This time, I’m taking a break from my usual posts  to do something a little different.

I’d love to get to know YOU. I’ll start by sharing a few fun things.  I’ve got a list of seven things about me. Why seven? Well, whenever anyone asks what my favorite number is, I say seven. It’s like my knee jerk answer. I think that’s because it’s supposed to be lucky! So by all means, let’s get to know each other a little better.

something good

Pilates is definitely my workout of choice. I got addicted when I was pregnant with baby number one.

Speaking of babies, I have two – a boy and a girl.

I’m addicted to loose leaf tea. Most people HAVE to brew coffee every morning, for me it’s tea..

My husband and I went to the same midwestern university at the same time and didn’t meet until we both ended up in California. The university had about 2500 students. We even had some of the same friends while in school. Odd. And meant to be. 🙂

I make lists for everything. everything. So this list came naturally. Ha!

I am teetering toward being a vegetarian. I’m getting more and more over meat and thinking the plant based life might be good for me. We’ll see.

7  I’m 6’1″.

How’s that for getting to know you? Tell me something about you. Any odd quirks? Crazy dreams? Spill ’em!

  1. Yes, you and your husband were certainly meant to be. How wonderful!

    1. I also have a girl and a boy child. 🙂

    2. I didn’t have my first child until I was 30. (that’s certainly unusual to me)

    3. My husband and I met online.

    • I didn’t have my first child until I was in my 30’s. It felt unusal for me too!

I think meeting online is getting more and more common!

    • Very cool! My kids just got a chance to pet a fox at a birthday party. I think it was the first time I’d seen one up close.

  2. Hey love the topic! Let me tell you something good…ummm lets see. I have a super hello kitty obsession, bigger than an 8 year old! lol

    • Nice! I have a friend who is obsessed with Hello Kitty too! I saw a bunch of stuff at Target recently and sent her pictures. She was grateful and probably picked up some stuff!

    • I am obsessed! I had to stop buying it and finish some of the flavors I have. It was getting out of hand!

    • I just ordered a Zumba DVD. I have heard so much about it and can’t wait to try it. I think my kids will like it too since they get a kick out of me working out.

    • I didn’t tap into my animal love until we got our dog almost six years ago. I only had fish growing up. Now I am totally an animal person.

  3. Those are some great things about you. I am vegan and have been now for over a year. I quit cold turkey and never looked back. You can do it! 🙂

    • My closest friends tend to be nearly a foot shorter than me. Go figure! I really wanted a tramp stamp years ago. I had no idea people called them that then. LOL!

    • You have a full house for sure! I wanted four kids but I’m pretty sure we’re done. For always seemed like an ideal number to me. Reading your comment reminded me to go to Home Appetit for those seasonings!!!! LOL!

    • My lists are OUT OF CONTROL! They are online, in my phone, in notebooks! I might need help!

    • Well, great to meet you Ann! I am not a fan of bears either. They are huge, scary and best viewed through a zoo enclosure! LOL!

  4. You’re 6’1″??? That’s so tall! (I’m only 5’3″.) Random about me…I ran 3.5 miles today during my lunch hour and my running app told me that my “best run” was almost a year ago (June 1, 2013.) I’m hoping that June 7, 2014 will be my next best run. 🙂 I also have a son (just one child right now) and I don’t like coffee. Never have. Most of my family are coffee addicts, though.

    • I am so jealous that you run. I kept saying I was going to do it. I really have to try it out. I want to do one of those color runs. They look like such fun!

  5. 1. I don’t have a workout routine because it aggravates my back problems. I used to play indoor soccer until my pain started causing issues.

    3. I am addicted to diet dp.
    4. I met my husband on MySpace.

    • Fascinating stuff! Thanks for sharing. Very cool that you guys met on MySpace! I knew a couple who were trying to get married on MySpace through some sweepstakes.

    • I have talked to my husband about living overseas at some point. I think it would be a great experience. I need to work out more too. It’s definitely more sporadic these days.

    • Love that!!!!! I told my husband I wanted to expose my kids to some good Broadway show tunes! Oddly, he didn’t share my excitement. LOL!

  6. This is a fun post to put together. I have a friend who drinks tea all day. She says everyone does it in Scotland and old habits die hard. 🙂

  7. What a fun tidbit about college!

I also love pilates, but I do Zumba classes more often.

I love tea, but am too lazy to brew my own. I do love the Lipton Pure Leaf bottles though!
