photo(17)Every weekend I’m on a “things to do with the kids” mission.  There are definitely some weekends where we hang at home and see where the day takes us but most times I’m planning an outing of some kind.

I’m away from my babies for most of the week while they are at day care. When we’re together, I like to have experiences as a family. I tend to find one cool thing to try each weekend. This summer is going to be no different. I have a little list of things I want to do with the babies this summer. Some we’ve done before, some we haven’t. Here’s what I’m thinking:

We’ve already got things rolling with a trip to the museum this past weekend.

photo(18)Beach – How can we not? It’s Los Angeles

Miniature golf – the hubby and I used to go for a fun day date. Should be fun and funny to have the little guy try it out

Watch fireworks – there may or may not be a trip to Disney Land in the works. Either way we will be seeing some Disney fireworks

Swim lessons – I’ve already been checking into them for me and the kids. As soon as we’re all well – it’s on!

Picnics – lots of picnics. My son loves picnics in the park

The farmers market – I love hitting up the market. We don’t go enough. I’m looking forward to going more this summer to get some yummy seasonal fruits and veggies. It’s fun for the kids too with a park nearby to eat up some of the goodness we pick up.

Hike – I’ve never been much into hiking. As an adult anyway. But there are so many beautiful spots to take in here. I’ve discovered a trail in Malibu that should be pretty easy to do with bambinos. I wanna give it a shot this summer.

Bike riding – While the hubs and I don’t have bikes (going to fix that) my son does, and we want to get him riding it more. His sister will be cruising nearby in her car.

Family vacation(s) – there are plans for a trip back home to the Midwest, possibly Vegas and San Diego. We’ll see…

What are your plans for the summer?

  1. Your list sounds like so much fun! We have pretty much the same thing on it. I want to try to make it to Sesame Place. I think it will be fun for my little guy and he’s free to get it. I’m trying to take advantage of that free under 2 as much as I can!

  2. No plans for the summer we are going on a mini vacation the end of next month to the beach but that’s about it my plans is work on my business and brand for me. Kids are normally on some type of tablet after our learning time so I don’t hear or see them until after the battery dies which allows me to get a lot of work done.

  3. My grandson and I do picnics in the park in the summer and go to the movies. Mini golf that is a good idea. I will have to fine a place.

  4. Great list!
RJ LOVES the park and we have favorite one we like to take him to. So, I’m sure we’ll spend a lot of time there. We’re planning a DC/Baltimore trip in August abd may squeeze in one to NYC as a family. I plan to take swim lessons in September. I found a Y with a salt water pool that won’t irritate my eczema. RJ will take them next summer through his daycare. I also plan to set up play dates for RJ as well with old and new friends.

  5. Good ideas indeed for summer! Give me some ideas to do with lil ones in my life! Took me awhile to figure out how comment on your blog! God Bless 🙂

  6. This is the first summer I feel very conscious of it. I think because it’s my first summer after some sort of schooling – first year of preschool. Before this we never had any daycare or nannies. That said, I’m planning a road trip a week, and then playdates for at least three days! And a few vacations! The road trips will be up to 1-2 hours away in extreme cases, but usually around a half hour to hour. I can’t wait. We’re going to explore new towns and museums and parks and zoos and cafes!

  7. Learning to swim is a very daunting task. I recently overcame my 20+ years of swimming. I have sat on the sideline and watching everyone else have fun, but me. I tried taking several swimming courses over the years, This video is my testimonial to the current swim course I am in.
