It’s getting to be summertime and that means summer vacay! Yay! I could really use a getaway of sorts. We usually make our way out of the country in the summer for some time away. Another option, we have a friend in NYC and would love to make our way to the city this summer. It ain’t happening though. Our vacations have changed a bit since becoming parents. I’m sure we’ll get back to normal at some point but for right now, we’re keeping things simple. In his first year this kid has seen Chicago, Miami and Vegas. He narrowly missed a Mexican vacay because of an ear infection. I think he’s doing pretty good. This summer, we’re heading to the Midwest to see the family! I’m so looking forward to seeing my granny and other folks who haven’t made the trip out west for a visit. It will be so special for my son to get to know his family with a little quality time. My parents are making all kinds of plans for us. They want to do a big bar-b-que and really make our trip home special. They even have plans to give us a date night.  My husband’s family is in the next state over and they’re going to make the drive to hang out with us too. I’m excited about all that comes with this trip and while it’s not quite the Dominican Republic, it’s family and we’ll take it. What are you summer vacation plans?

  1. Wow, family is great… especially when you can visit somewhere other than the state you currently live in. And Date Night just sweetens the deal! No big plans for us, we’ll probably go to Chicago for the TASTE. We’re on a serious budget since we’re sending my son to Italy for the summer. Hopefully he’ll blog about it! Enjoy your trip, I’ll keep my eyes peeled for the details!
