So Oprah’s people are lightweight stalkers. Not her people per se but, the subscription department at her magazine, those people mean business! I filled out an online form for a subscription to O – the Oprah magazine. I had heard so many good things about it and wanted to check it out for myself. So, this was a good thing. I had forgotten about the subscription until I got the first magazine in the mail. The one they told me was mine to try for FREE. Well, I looked it over and loved it! It was speaking to me! The issue was all about being creative and how you’re creative whether you think so or not. It talked about how to bring your creativity to the surface. Working in television – I can always use a creativity pep talk/workshop type of thing. When I finished reading it, I was pumped and encouraged. I’m sure these are all things they’d want me to feel after reading the mag, right? Then, I went to put it in my magazine rack. That, my friend, is where reality greeted me. I have sooo many subscriptions to fabulous magazines that I never, ever get to read. The Fitness magazine in particular openly laughs at me when I walk by. That’s another story for another day. So, I realized that I really didn’t have time for yet another magazine that would be collecting dust before it made its way to the recycle basket. Such a waste. So, the bill for the subscription came. I knew what I had to do. I can’t start receiving this magazine. So, as instructed, I wrote cancel across the bill and sent it back. This apparently doesn’t sit well with the subscription department. I started to get emails and more bills in the mail requesting my PAST DUE payment. I’m confused – I said cancel it. What more can I do? I really like the magazine but the presence of a 1 year old in my home prevents me from reading. I’m getting dumber by the day, I’m sure of it. I mean, reading is fundamental, no? Argh, that baby! I digress. That being said, I’m not sure what to do to get the O magazine monkey off my back. Any suggestions would be welcome. While you’re busy thinking up suggestions, how about heading to the right to subscribe to this blog? It’s FREE and I promise if you send me a note in the mail that says cancel – I won’t stalk you… much! 🙂
