I have expressed my love for Groupon type sites in the past. I can’t seem to pass up a good deal. So far they’ve been working out pretty well for me. I’ve enjoyed going places and discovering things in L.A that I’d never heard of.

Last week I was rushing to use a deal before it expired. The deal was for a facial. I made the appointment and I was all excited. I showed up ready to be pampered. I can’t remember if I’ve ever had a facial before. If I had, I certainly didn’t remember it this way. I was met at the front desk by a friendly lady with an accent. She escorted me to a room in the back. Inside dimly lit room was a massage table and it was a really relaxing scene. Once inside she instructed me to take off my clothes! Huh? She said to strip down to my skivvies and lie down on the massage table. My first thought was does she know I’m getting a FACIAL? I mean, why would I need to strip for a facial unless it was this kind of facial.

Even with my questions, I complied with her request after she left the room. I quickly stripped down and hurried under the covers. That’s when the experience began. It was a great one y’all. I got a shoulder, neck, scalp, arm and hand massage. They also did an oil treatment on my hands during the process. I practically fell asleep there on the massage table. The treatment was just over an hour and it was pure bliss. My skin felt great! It looked pretty good too.

I left with a mental note to myself to make facials a regular thing. I must work that into the budget. So my wise words to you – when someone asks you to strip, do it! You never know what you might be in for. Words of wisdom, trust me! 🙂

Do you get facials and if so do they require you to strip?

  1. Lucky you! I heart Groupon. My hubby got me a gift certificate for a massage for my birthday way back in March that’s just sitting on my dresser! I probably should go ahead and shedule it.

Thanks for visiting my blog and for the compliment!

Also, I love your 40 by 40 list! I’m planning my 40th bday party now!

  2. I like Groupon too. Lots of great deals. Haven’t gotten a facial yet, but the hair chick mentioned something about upper body massage with it so I had an idea. Man that sounds like a good idea and your skin looks fabyoooluss. Totally gonna try it.

  3. LOVE Groupon and other deal sites. You skin is beautiful! I can’t believe you had to strip.

Not trying to plug.. but i have an eversave giveaway going on. I am sure they have something in LA

  4. I’ve never used Groupon although I’ve been hearing so many good things about it. You look beautiful! I’m definitely a believer in the beauty (literally) of spa treatments! I got a gift card for my bday and can’t wait to use it!

  5. I think most of the time I was…but I think I usually have them combined with massages so I can’t be for sure. I’m glad you had some “me” time…and I need to work this into my budget too!

  6. One word. Heaven! If I had the budget to do that every month, it would be my splurge. I’ve only had to take my shirt off, even in the swankity-swank places. But I’d take it over a massage anyday.

The kids in beauty school do them for super cheap, they aren’t great, but they are better than nothing!

OH! Comment luv! Wish I could install that on my blog, darn blogger.

  7. Haha… so funny! I love a good massage so I’ll totally comply for that purpose alone. I got a facial this week also, and although my skin feels amazing and looks great, it totally messed with my allergies. I left that Spa with things dripping out of my nose like never before. I think it was the massage portion of the facial that helped cleared up my sinuses, but still…..
