Today is my birthday. It doesn’t feel any different. I don’t feel any different. I know I’m older. I’m hoping I’m a little wiser too. I think I might be.
After the whole hoopla surrounding my job, I hopped on a plane and went home. I headed straight to my parents house. This trip had been planned before I knew I would be unemployed. It sure was timely though.
Getting to spend some time with my parents, my grandma, my aunts, friends and cousins has been just what my soul needed. Watching my parents shower their grandchildren with love and seeing all of this joy, pure joy, is beyond a blessing. My babies are loving all of the extra love and snuggles as much as my parents love giving them.
As I sit here on the night of my birthday, getting my daughter down for the night, I’m reflective and I’m just plain thankful.
My mother had a dinner party tonight in my honor. My mother cooked ALL day and even baked a cake!
Her friends came by, family came over, friends came too with their babies in tow. My moms friends are like family and they’ve watched me grow up. Watching them hold my babies was almost surreal.
So while I don’t feel any different, I do feel blessed. Beyond.
