photo(16)This is me, yesterday. I snapped this pic after my first workout since being 4 months pregnant with my daughter. At that time, my doctor told me to sit it down because it was too dangerous to keep working out because of how she was positioned. She will be a year old in two weeks and I am JUST getting around to some gym time.

I booked a session with a trainer. I was beyond nervous. I just knew my body was going to be like Jell-O. If you knew how hard I was breathing when I took this picture, you’d feel sorry for my pitiful behind! I had been WORKED OUT! We worked on my arms and my tummy and my arms are still feeling it as I type this post almost twelve hours post-workout! Crazy!

I’m looking forward to getting back in there as much as I can this week. I’m excited about getting my strength back and just being in shape. While we were working on my abs and I felt like I was about to die, I kept having to remind myself that all of the hard work is worth it.

I remember being in my 20s and working out 2 hours a day for 5 days a week. Those days are LONG gone! I don’t wanna go back there. I do want to get close to the body I had then though. It’s not about being smaller, I’m good with my size. I just want to be stronger. After the way my arms were shaking lifting weights yesterday, I know I have a long way to go. Y’all I have a LONG way to go! But I’m happy that I’ve taken the first step.

  1. You look great and good for you for getting back to working out! I am supposed to start hitting the gym next week. I really need to work on my abs and tone my legs and arms.

    • Thanks Trina!

I’m not sure about BlogHer… I may be in the area visiting family though so it’s still possible. Hmm… I need to work on that…

  2. Wow, you look great! I know my arms are in decent enough shape from carrying around the baby but my stomach has a long way to go.

Kudos to you for your realistic goals, and reaching them!

    • Yes, my arms weren’t nearly as weak as I expected. I’m guessing my baby girl has been a good bicep workout!
