Nothing makes you notice the passing of time like the birthday’s of your child.

My little man recently turned two. I was so excited about his birthday but in a little bit of denial too. I still can’t believe I’m the mom of a two year old little boy! How and when did that happen?

We were going to have a party at first. After a little more thought we decided we’d both take the day off and take him to Disneyland! What could be better than that!? Well, at the last minute his dad had to take care of some business on his birthday and we wouldn’t be making it out to Disney first thing in the AM as we had planned. That’s when plan B kicked in. While hubs was out taking care of business, I took the little guy to an indoor playground called Under the Sea. He had a ball! He played with every toy in sight. The place even had rides and he made his way over to those. His dad met us there. We had lunch and then headed home for his nap. When he woke up, we rolled out to the Aquarium of the Pacific.

He ran around that place like a crazy baby! He excitedly pointed out all of the animals. The place is a pretty good size and he saw some of everything. He made sure to tell us about the walrus, penguin and the “fish in da wawter”. It was awesome. They also have stations for touching animals. My brave little guy touched a jelly fish, star fish and just narrowly missed a sting ray.

He had a ball. His birthday had taken on an accidental aquatic theme. HA!

After the “fish in DA wawter” we went to dinner and the waiter brought out a sundae for the birthday boy. He dug right in!! We had to help out. You know, it’s our parental duty!

We finished out the birthday week with Yo Gabba Gabba! We went to see the live show and it was so much fun. It was cool to watch his little face as he tried to understand how his friends from TV were dancing and singing in front of him. Priceless!!!

Of course, I sent my little man an email to tell him all about his day and how much we love him! I gave my husband a hi-5 and told him we rock. We pulled off a great birthday… plan B and all!

P.S. My little man’s birthday was in November. I’ve been sitting on this post and decided to post it today as we’re having a party with a bunch of his friends this weekend with his friends who turned two recently as well. I’m in the birthday spirit, I guess. 🙂

Jas is so scary when it comes to certain things Im sure she would not touch anything at the aquarium but I do want to take her. It’s on my list of things to do.
