photo (27)I asked you all to guess where I was. It certainly wasn’t the sunny Los Angeles I call home. My family and I took a little vacation.

We went to the great state of Colorado. It was my first real visit to the state and baby girls first flight. She did well. She talked to everyone… after giving them the stink eye for a while. She had a little crush on a guy seated behind us. She tried to get his attention for a while with baby gibberish.

photo (30)He was on his laptop with headphones on, so I don’t think he heard her. After some time she decided she would not be ignored and screamed at him – LOUD!photo (31)Yes, we have a feisty one on our hands. My son, on the other hand, is a professional flyer at this point. My little guy was busy on his LeapPad for most of the flight.photo (32)
totally photo bombed by his sisters backside…
As far as le trip, I am convinced she (Colorado) has some issues. When we got there on Monday it was 80 degrees. When I took the above picture on Wednesday it was 20 degrees and it snowed that WHOLE day.
While I’m from Michigan, it’s been a long time since I’ve been in snow. Cleaning, defrosting the car and trying to hustle my kids in from the cold was an experience. The highlight though was my son getting to see snow for the first time. He was mesmerized. He thought it made the trees look like Christmas trees.
Once it was time to go out in the snow he as a little nervous. I convinced him it was fine. Once outside he was throwing the snow and tasting it. It was great to experience that with him!  The weather starting warming up the next day and by the time we left on that Saturday, we were walking around without coats and thinking ice cream might be a cool treat! That Colorado is an indecisive chick!
Weather woes aside, we had a good time. We have friends in Denver and we spent a good chunk of our time with them. We hit up a french cafe for lunch, did story time at the library and some sightseeing. It was a nice change of pace from our hectic life in L.A. We loved seeing our friends. They used to live here and are doing really well in their new locale. My kids had a blast playing with their babies and their dog.
On our last night there we went to a Mexican restaurant where there were literal theatrics the whole time. There were people performing and high diving into a pool. It was a crazy, cool place called Casa Bonita. While there… this happened!
family photoSo much fun. I’m ready for the next vacay. Can’t somebody just pay me to take my family all around the world?

  5. Oh my goodness! Those are some seriously gorgeous babies! I’m glad your baby girl did so well on a plane. I was worried how cranky my daughter would be when we had to take a 6 hour roadtrip. She did better than I thought she would. I love that your daughter was trying to get her flirt on with the guy a row back.haha Too cute.
Looks like you had a fun trip. I’m not much for snow but good company can make up for that. Glad you had some time with your friends.

  6. haha – your plane story is great. She is the cutest! This reminds me of when I went out west to Yellowstone and every day was 75 and sunny. On the last day it was 32 degrees and snowing hard. Ah, crazy weather out there. It’s May 15th in New England and our heat came on today! Expected 80 degrees tomorrow.
