Recently, I posted this picture on Facebook.
After seeing it, a friend asked me what I was using to wash my face. At first, I thought she was being funny and then I thought about it. My skin has been looking a little better lately. They say, “give face” and I’ve been working on mine. Maybe it was starting to show? I had certainly noticed a difference in my skin and now it seemed like I wasn’t the only one noticing. I figured I’d share my winter skincare routine here. Something I do may work for you too… and vice versa.
Although we don’t have the harshest of winter weather around these parts – there is a definite change in the air. It gets MUCH cooler at night, even if it had been 70 degrees during the day, it may very well be in the 50s at night. Those dips in temperatures had been taking a toll on my face. I told my husband that I felt like my face felt drier and looked grey-ish. He reminded me that I had a face brush I’d bought a while ago and hadn’t used. I don’t know how I’d forgotten! I went straight to the bathroom and pulled out the Olay Advanced Pro-X Cleansing System.
I had ordered it from Amazon months ago because I was too cheap to get a Clarisonic. I had put it under the sink and forgot about it. Once I started using it, I saw a change in my skin almost immediately. My skin was smoother and brighter just like that! It came with an exfoliating cleanser and I use it with the brush every other day or so.
Here’s my rundown of my daily routine:
I wash with Kelly Teegarden Organic Facial Cleanser (alternating with the Olay exfoliating cleanser). I follow that with Carol’s Daughter toner and moisturizer.
If it’s cooler out and I feel like I might need more moisture, I add a littler Argan oil over the moisturizer.
The Olay brush has really helped to get rid off that winter dullness. Love that thing! What’s your must-have for skin care? Give it to me! I might need to add it in the mix!

Thanks for sharing! I’m always looking for a moisturizer as I have dry sensitive skin and I haven’t found the perfect product for me yet. I didn’t know Olay had a bruch. I may need to get one.

I absolutely love Cetaphil. I realized that my skin responds to what I’m eating and drinking so it’s not really the product that gives me the glow I want but my diet. When I’m drinking lots of soda my skin is a hot mess. I have always wanted to try one of those brush systems though. Your skin looks amazing!!!

I need one of those face things I so want to try the brush it looks so what’s the word clean like my face will be so refreshed after I use it. My mom use to swear by oil of olay back in the day don’t see them around too much these days.

I’ve been trying to lock down a skin care regime for the last few years, but my skin is extremely sensitive,acne prone and I have eczema. Ughhh. I’m on meds prescribed by my derm, but want to get my skin under control without them. I want to try the oil cleansing method. I’m just afraid I’ll spend money oils and my skin won’t like it.

You look radiant, Cam! Those brushes are the business. I have a Clarisonic Mia that had been under the sink, like your Olay brush. I pulled it out late last year and have been pretty consistent with it, especially in this horrible winter. My skin and hair have been paying a high price! I also use argan oil in the day, and at night I’ll sometimes use some grapeseed oil and Vitamin E oil.
