I’ve never fancied myself a dynamo in the kitchen. Don’t get me wrong, I cook. My cooking is more out of necessity. We have to eat so, I have to cook. I’ve never been a cook for fun kind of girl. I don’t get into baking either. I know what you’re thinking… “somebody married you?”, “what kind of mother are you?”. To that I say, calm down! It’s not so bad. My family eats and they eat well, thank you very much. Humph!

Lately, I have been getting more into the idea of cooking. I’ve been doing more meal planning and trying various types of foods so I’m not just rotating the same six entrees. It’s been kind of cool. I guess if I had more time to cook, I might like it. I said might. In an effort to further explore my cooking abilities or lack thereof, I’ve decided to take a cooking class. That’s going to be the next installment in my 40 before 40. It’s actually been something I’ve wanted to do for a while. Many people I know really love cooking and I’m curious as to why. Maybe if I delve into it, I’ll get it. Maybe not. Can’t hurt to try. I’m sure my family and their tummies will thank me for my efforts.

  1. I need to take some classes as well…they have some at the University near me that has personal development classes. I once took a knife skills class…need to go back for some more. Good luck!

    • I’ve been eyeing some good ones around here… just need to take the plunge and sign up! Knife skills, huh? Never occurred to me to take that class… probably could be handy since I’m always slicing my fingers!
